On Mondays they often have a crab roll special: 2 crab rolls, a salad and chips for $7.95. Two rolls for under 8 bucks! How exciting is that and right off the Maine Turnpike? Save your gastric juices for elsewhere, anywhere else. I would have been happier with one of those new Southern Chicken sandwiches at McD's. It's just food for the elderly wanting an afternoon out. The rolls were marginal. Between the "salad" and the lettuce stuffed rolls I am pretty sure I downed an entire head of iceberg before I got out of there. Now I have some weird lettuce headache.

I sat at the counter thinking I'd get some local color- it was a kaleidoscope of forest crackers talking about gas prices, fiddleheads and ways to stay out of Togus. Togus is the VA home my siblings threaten to send my father to when senility sets in. One of my architecture prof's spent the better part of his life designing additions and renovations for Togus. Just the name- Togus? Anywhere, but Togus.

The food and the prices belong in the 70's. The 70's blew. My sister warned me not to go there. You could eat the entire menu without using your teeth. The busboy (man) looked like he was in the grips of tertiary syphilis. That's mean, but he made me a little uncomfortable. I didn't even bother with photos. They do serve proper red hot dogs.

NO LOBSTER ROLLS AT COLE FARMS, which is OK because I wouldn't want to eat one there.
