Legal Seafood - Harborside: Corporate Lobster Roll

Legal Seafood - Harborside
270 Northern Ave
Boston, MA 02210
(617) 477-2900
When there are suited managers running around with the same clear spiral microphones use by the Secret Service, you know the roll won't be normal. The nice thing is that if you liked it, then you'll get precisely the same thing in Crystal City, VA as you would in King of Prussia, PA. It is important to note that the Seaport area with all its "Innovation" has become a big draw for bridge and tunnel types, but really date night people from the "W Towns" (West of Boston towns that start with W: Wellesley, Weston, Wayland). There is an exit off the Mass Pike tunnel that spits you out into a sea of cheap parking right in Seaport.  You can have dinner at any number of corporate establishments and get back to the sitter by ten pm. BT Dubs: all that parking will soon be a collection of boring 20 story towers within 5 years, so work it while you can Westonians. As you might be able to tell I am not down with Seaport's revival.

Here's what you will get on a Legal Roll:

  • Pretty flavorful lobster masked with some mild spices and what appeared to be sliced green onions?
  • A big buttered and grilled roll, but not a side split hot dog bun. I am sure they would refer to their bun as "brioche," but if you are familiar with Martin's Potato Rolls you will sense a lot of similarities and this isn't a bad thing.  A Martin bun is a fine thing.
  • Fries
  • Slaw
  • A view of the Boston Harbor and Logan Airport
  • A lot of low level power lunchers that order dressings on the side.
